May oras pang humabol! UP extends deadline for submitting UPCAT forms for NCR public schools
Senior high school students from Metro Manila schools who wish to take the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) have more time to fix their applications.
UP on Friday (August 3) announced it will be extending the deadline for submitting UPCAT forms for public senior high school students in Metro Manila to August 6.
The deadline was extended due to the suspension of classes caused by rains.
UP, however, said the deadline for submission of UPCAT forms for senior high school students from regional public and private schools remains on August 10.
The UPCAT will be held on September 15 and 16.
UP hit the headlines earlier this week when over 10,000 students from private senior high schools swamped the Registrar’s Office to submit their UPCAT application forms.
The deadline for submitting UPCAT forms for students in private high schools in Metro Manila was on July 30.
UP Vice President for Public Affairs Dr. Jose Dalisay Jr. said the number of aspiring UP students may have ballooned due to the free tuition in public tertiary education institutions.
The UP administration has encouraged applicants to use drop boxes and courier services to submit their UPCAT forms to avoid long lines.
