May pasabog! Duterte to come out with ‘very substantial’ info on Trillanes bank records – Palace
President Rodrigo Duterte will come out with “very substantial” information regarding the offshore bank accounts that he claims Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has, Malacañang said.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella made the assurance Monday (September 11) to dispel the notion that Duterte has no substantial information to back up his allegation against Trillanes.
Abell, however, did not say if the President will release verified bank records of Trillanes’ supposed bank accounts.
“From how I understand and know the President, he would come out with something very substantial. Exactly what, I cannot say,” he said in a press briefing.
Abella said Duterte has “higher ground” in backing up his claim against Trillanes compared to the senator, who had accused Duterte of having over P200 million in undeclared deposits in his bank accounts.
Over the weekend, Duterte claimed Trillanes, one of his staunchest critics, has bank accounts in several countries.
Trillanes has signed a waiver allowing the Office of the Ombudsman and Anti-Money Laundering Council to investigate his bank accounts and financial transactions.
