It might be a rehash but Duterte has yet to explain the P2.4B secret deposits – Trillanes
Nine months and still waiting.
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said that President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to open his bank accounts to the public to dispute allegations that he had P2.4 billion deposits and transactions in undisclosed bank accounts from 2006 to 2015.
In a press conference Thursday, Trillanes said that Duterte has presented only a balance of his account at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Julia Vargas branch in Ortigas. Trillanes said what would be more revealing was the official document to show the transaction records from 2006 to 2015.
During the briefing, Trillanes presented documents to further bolster his charges against Duterte and he said that it was Duterte’s turn. “It has been months since the President’s camp has postponed the release of the President’s bank transactions and I am still waiting to be proven wrong.”
Presidential Chief Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo has dismissed Trillanes’ charges as a mere rehash of his accusations last May that were debunked by the BPI as “fake.”
But Trillanes remained adamant.
“Rehash man, it remains unaddressed,” said Trillanes.
