Retired Army Major General Jovito Palparan will be transferred to the national penitentiary in Muntinlupa City on Wednesday, Malacañang confirmed on Monday.
Palparan remains detained at Camp Aguinaldo as he is still facing a separate illegal detention case over the abduction of brothers Raymond and Reynaldo Manalo.
“Fr (Lt. Gen. Carlito) Galvez (Jr.) when I asked when and if Palparan will be turned over to Muntinlupa: Sir good evening. Sir accordingly this coming Wednesday Sir…,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr, said.
Earlier this month, Palparan was sentenced to reclusion perpetua or imprisonment of up to 40 years after the Malolos Regional Trial Court Branch 15 found him guilty of kidnapping still-missing University of the Philippines students Karen Empeno and Sheryl Cadapan in 2006.
Also found guilty were Lt. Col. Felipe Anotado, Jr. and Staff Sgt. Edgardo Osorio.
