Mocha Uson’s power move: Malacañang finally grants press credentials to bloggers
Bloggers and other social media practioners can now apply for accreditation to cover President Duterte and other activities in Malacañang.
President Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has issued Department order No. 15 on the “interim social media practioner accreditation” in the Palace.
“Social media accreditation shall be issued to a Filipino Citizen who is at least 18 years of age with not less than 5,000 followers in any social media platform,” the order read.
Under Andanar’s directive, the accreditation shall be free and voluntary. Interested parties may file applications with the Social Media Office led by PCO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson.
“Unless expressly specified, accreditation is understood to be on a per event/activity only,” it said.
The press credentials may be suspended or cancelled if there is abuse of rights and privileges extended by the PCOO and such accreditation is not used properly.
