Mukhang pera kayong ABS-CBN: Duterte dares its reporters to bare his wealth, kick him out of office

Apr 13, 2017 @ 19:23

President Rodrigo Duterte has challenged ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. to unleash the full might of its investigative report team to expose his alleged hidden wealth.

Duterte is still sore at ABS-CBN for airing during last year’s campaign Senator Antonio Trillanes’ claim that he has over P200 million in hidden wealth stashed in undeclared bank ‎accounts at the Ortigas branch of Bank of the Philippine Islands.

‎”Itong ABS-CBN, publish nang publish. Ngayon, may mga journalistic investigators man kayo. May mga ano man kayo na ano, eh ‘di hanapin na ninyo para matanggal na ako sa gobyerno,” said Duterte in a speech before the Filipino community in Saudi Arabia.

‎”Sabihin ko sa inyo ha, ikaw mukhang pera kayong ABS-CBN. Tang ina kung meron talaga, sabihin ko, I will resign tomorrow, I will deliver it to you reporters. Tang inang ‘yan,” he added.

Duterte also gave his view of ABS-CBN’s reporting standards: “Puro drama na lang. Wala… kung hindi mag-atake ng tao, pati basura ‘nong eleksyon, 200 million daw ako sabi ni Trillanes. Putang ina, wala akong pera ganon,” said Duterte.

Duterte said he was giving ABS-CBN clearance to look into “everything” ‎and that he would be true to his promise to resign if they find proof of his hidden wealth.

“You show me a record. I was a candidate then and I said open up everything. I am the President now, you have the liberty. Maski baliktarin mo ‘yung Central Bank. If I have that money, I will resign today. I give you my commitment. I will step down,” said Duterte.
