Najib thanks PH gov’t after rescue of 2 Malaysians
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was grateful following the rescue of two Malaysians who were held captives by the Abu Sayyaf.
These were 62-year-old Abd Rahim Summas and 45-year-old Tayudin Anjut.
“We are grateful that they are back after eight months and have safely returned to their families,” Malaysia’s The Star Online, in an article published online on March 27, quoted Najib as saying.
“The government would like to express gratitude to the Filipino government, law enforcement authorities and Kelab Putera 1Malaysia for its commitment to securing the safe release of both Malaysians,” he told the Dewan Rakyat (House of Representatives).
According to the article, Najib also said that authorities are doing what they can to ensure the return of 32-year-old Mohd Ridzuan Ismail, 26-year-old Fandy Bakran, and 23-year-old Mohd Zumadi Rahim.
