Nalito sa pinya! PNA uses wrong DOLE logo for labor story

Aug 11, 2017 @ 22:13

The Philippine News Agency (PNA) has committed another gaffe, just days after it drew flak for posting a Chinese propaganda piece on the South China Sea.

PNA’s website featured the logo of DOLE Food Company for a story on the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) issuance of pay rules for holidays in 2018.

The multinational company’s logo was used as the thumbnail photo for the story published Friday evening (August 11).

The thumbnail photo has since been changed to the correct DOLE logo.

The DOLE booboo is just the latest in the PNA’s string of gaffes. On August 6, the state-run news agency posted an opnion piece by Xinhua which described the arbitral ruling on the South China Sea as an “ill-founded award.”

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has asked PNA officials to explain why the opinion piece wasn’t vetted before being posted on the website.
