Natakot sa US DOJ? Jeane Napoles returns to PH
Jeane Catherine Napoles is back.
“She flew back yesterday (August 3) from Denpasar, Indonesia via Zest Air,” confirmed Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra after having been informed by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Guevarra revealed this after having said last August 3 that Jeane Catherine fled the Philippines last July 27.
Jeane and her mother, alleged pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim Napoles, got indicted last July in the United States over money laundering charges involving $20 million suspected to have come from the scam.
Others in the indictment included the brother of Mrs. Napoles, Reynald Luy Lim; Reynald’s wife Ana Marie Lim; and the children of Mrs. Napoles, Jo Christine and James Christopher.
The US government said it will seek the extradition of those indicted to the US to face the charges.
Though he admitted the Department of Justice (DOJ) has no power to stop anyone from leaving the country, Guevarra has assured that the government will assist the US in the prosecution of those indicted.
