This is not a drill: ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ author Kevin Kwan is coming to Ateneo
Kevin Kwan, the bestselling author of the satirical novel “Crazy Rich Asians” will be in the Philippines this month to speak at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Kwan will be in ADMU on August 22 for an interview and an open forum.
The Singaporean novelist is expected to talk about his work and how he, an Asian author, broke into the international market.
He will also sign copies of his books for the audience.
Students from other universities are welcome to attend the event, dubbed “Kevin Kwan in Ateneo.” It is organized by the Literary Society in cooperation with Fully Booked, ADMU’s Fine Arts and English Departments, and Rizal Library.
Aside from “Crazy Rich Asians,” Kwan also wrote “China Rich Girlfriend” and “Rich People Problems.”
Kris Aquino is rumored to have been cast for the movie adaptation of “Crazy Rich Asians” though she remains tight-lipped about it.
Fueling talk about Aquino’s appearance in the movie was her trip to Singapore last June, which she said she made to “fulfill a dream.”
