Pahinga muna: Trillanes won’t run for any elective post in 2019

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV will not seek any elective position in next year’s midterm elections.
Trillanes made the announcement during the filing of candidacy for senator of his “mistah,” Magdalo Partylist Rep. Gary Alejano.
Trillanes earlier was rumored to replace Alejano as the first nominee of the Magdalo Partylist in the Lower House but the former rebel soldier stressed that it was a unanimous decision of their group to let other members represent their advocacies in the House of Representatives.
Trillanes said he would continue his anti-corruption advocacies as a private individual.
“Ako, I will continue with my advocacy dito sa pakikipaglaban para sa katotohanan, pakikipag-laban at para sa tama,” said Trillanes.
He stressed that he will remain vocal about the wrong doings of President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration even if he’s no longer a senator.
