Palace lashes back at Baler mayor over typhoon relief issue
Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda on Wednesday hit back at Baler Mayor Nelianto Bihasa, who reportedly complained of not receiving relief goods from the administration candidates Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo.
At a press briefing, Lacierda said the relief goods were intended for the victims of Typhoon Lando and not the for the mayor.
He said the media bureau of the Liberal Party (LP) has released a photo showing that the residents of Baler, Aurora received relief foods from the LP candidates.
On Tuesday, Roxas and Leni visited Baler, which was one of the areas badly hit by the typhoon.
Bihasa reportedly criticized the Ro-Ro tandem for not providing relief goods for his constituents because he was not a member of LP.
Bihasa is from the PDP-Laban political party.
Lacierda insisted that the LP was “color blind” when it comes to relief distribution adding that PDP-Laban was part of the LP coalition.
