Palace ‘regrets’ CA’s rejection of Ubial: Good luck na lang!
Malacañang has expressed its “regret” over the Commission on Appointments’ rejection of Paulyn Ubial as Health Secretary.
In a statement Tuesday (October 10), presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the Palace is “deeply grateful” for Ubial’s service. He said the doctor epitomized President Rodrigo Duterte’s “malasakit” or compassion through her “All for Health, towards Health for All” Philippine Health Agenda.
“We wish Secretary Ubial well in all her future endeavors,” Abella said.
The CA rejected Ubial’s confirmation following a closed-door voting session. The powerful panel held three hearings on her nomination before deciding on her appointment.
Ubial is the fifth Cabinet official to be rejected by the CA. The others were Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr., Environment Secretary Gina Lopez, Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo and Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano.
