Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Wednesday admitted knowing businessman Kenneth Dong way back when he was in his second term as senator, but did not receive a single centavo as donation in his senatorial campaigns last 2016 elections.
“I read in the papers that Kenneth insists on his innocence. If so, then he has nothing to hide and should answer the accusations by just telling the truth. We will not condone wrongdoing. We believe those wrongly accused should be absolved and those guilty be held to account regardless of who they are,” he said in a text message to reporters.
Pangilinan is among the five senators who stood as sponsors in the wedding of Dong in 2013.
Except for Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, Pangilinan along with Senators Risa Hontiveros, Joel Villanueva and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri were present in Dong’s wedding in Nov. 2013 sponsors.
Pangilinan said he was a keynote speaker during the International Agri-Tourism Summit few years ago,
