Para sulit ang serbisyo! Duterte wants retirement age for cops, soldiers raised to 60
President Rodrigo Duterte would rather that soldiers and cops retire from active service at 60 than 56 years old.
In a speech during his visit to Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija said the service of uniformed personnel should be extended since there newcomers are steadily coming in.
“Alam mo kasi yung 56 years old masyadong maaga yan. Wag lang kayong magalit pero lugi ang gobyerno diyan. Actually yung 56 mag-retire? Dapat mga 60. Tutal may bago namang pumapasok eh,” he said Wednesday (November 22).
Duterte said working longer in government will also benefit cops and soldiers longer because they can continue providing for their families.
It is for this reason, he said, that he is appointing retired military and police officials to ranking government posts.
“Lahat nang nag-retire, either sa pulis or sa army, sinasalo ko, to give more productive years to their lives,” Duterte said.
