‘Parang walang kahihiyan’ | VP Robredo hits Mocha Uson, ThinkingPinoy over ‘unapologetic’ stance at Senate hearing

Oct 5, 2017 @ 20:04

Vice President Leni Robredo chided popular bloggers-turned-government officials for being “unapologetic” and arrogant before the Senate committee hearing on fake news.

In an interview on Thursday (October 5, 2017), Robredo hit her critics, Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson and Rey Joseph Nieto or “ThinkingPinoy,” for their responses at the hearing.

Parang walang kahihiyan. At iyong masama pa sa lahat, parang iyong… iyong yabang at angas, nandoon,” said the Vice President.

She also said that such attitude towards public service is an “insult” to honest government workers—a seeming jab against Nieto, a consultant at the Department of Foreign Affairs, who lamented that he was getting little from working at the agency. He said the DFA “needs [him] more” than he needs the job there.

Uson and Nieto, pro-Duterte bloggers with huge following on Facebook, are among Robredo’s most vocal critics. They have published rumors and speculations about her, including an alleged pregnancy and repeated claims of involvement in a destabilization plot against the President.

During the hearing, conducted by the Senate committee on public information and mass media, senators raised concerns over the conflict between Uson and Nieto’s work as part of the administration and their personal blogs, where they have posted criticisms, speculations, and “fake news” against certain personalities critical of the President.
