Parojinog daughter’s appeal to Duterte: ‘Wag niyo kaming iwan. Kilala niya papa ko
Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog has asked for help from President Rodrigo Duterte to give justice to her father, Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, who she claimed was killed, along 12 others, in cold blood by a raiding police team inside their family compound Sunday, July 29.
“I am asking President Duterte. ‘Wag ninyo po kaming iwan. Kilala niya ang papa ko,” begged Nova who was jailed at the Criminal Investigation and Detection (CIDG) center.
In an interview with reporters, Nova insisted that her father’s security team did not fire at the raiding police as claimed by the CIDG. She noted that her father and the rest of he victims suffered mostly headshot wounds while the attacking police team did not suffer any injury.
“Kung walang irregularity, hindi dapat nila tinanggal ang hard disk ng mga CCTV namin. Wala pong nagpapuotk from our end,” said Nova.
Ozamiz City legal officer and Parojinog Aide, Atty. Jeffrey Ocang, told Balitanghali that the CCTV cameras were cut and the hard disks confiscated before the shooting.
Ocang said Parojinog was dead as early as 2:00 a.m. and Nova got wind of it seven hours later in her detention cell.
Based on his conversation with Nova, Ocang said the police searched through the house before handing the warrants.
Ocang said Nova claimed that the drugs and high-powered firearms were planted.
He said that the gunshots were heard “all over Ozamiz City” and there was only one sound heard – that of an armalite. He claimed that the police threw a grenade at the crowd who wanted to witness the attack on the Parojinog compound.
