Pasay prosecutor’s office begins probe of complaint vs Trillanes
The Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office has begun its preliminary investigation over the complaint against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV concerning statements he made about his amnesty.
Pasay City Prosecutor Reynaldo Ticyado conducted the preliminary investigation of the complaint which accused Trillanes of inciting to sedition and proposal to commit coup d’ etat.
The case was filed last September by Labor Undersecretary Jacinto “Jing” Paras and Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Manuelito Luna.
The complaint cited that Trillanes issued a statement claiming that some members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines were “extremely bothered” over the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to void hius amnesty.
The amnesty was given to Trillanes by former President Benigno Aquino III over the senator’s participation in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny and the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
