Pati bata pinatulan! Dick makes ‘crazy gesture’ at Ben Mbala for elbowing Matt Nieto in heated UAAP Finals game
Senator Richard Gordon forgot for a few seconds that he was a public figure when he watched the first finals game between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and De La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament Saturday (November 25).
According to netizen Justine Ferrer, Gordon made a “crazy gesture while directly pointing” at Green Archer Ben Mbala during the second quarter of the game.
Gordon’s temper likely flared because Mbala inadvertently elbowed Blue Eagle Matt Nieto, causing the latter’s eyebrow to be cut.
Ferrer was in disbelief over Gordon’s action.
“Tangina a PHL senator bluntly disrespecting a student athlete. Wow!” he said.
Netizen Monique said what Gordon did was “unacceptable.”
The senator, an alumnus of the Ateneo de Manila University, is known for being an impassioned collegiate basketball fan, shouting at referees from his seat whenever he felt their officiating of the game was incorrect.
He also skipped the plenary session on November 22 just to watch the “sudden death” match between Ateneo and the Far Eastern University.
Gago Senator Gordon was making a crazy gesture while directly pointing at Ben Mbala! What happened to Nieto was unintentional. Anyone who understands basketball would know! Tangina a PHL senator bluntly disrespecting a student athlete. Wow!

if uaap board can do something about the refs, i hope they can also do something about the gestures made by gordon and jet nieto. that's just so unacceptable. those rivalry should stay inside the court. NOT OUTSIDE.
