PDP to choose from 24 names for its 2019 senatorial bets – Alvarez
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said that the ruling party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP), has now 24 names being considered for its senatorial lineup.
This as Alvarez urged the newly-elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in his home province Davao del Norte to support the senatorial slate of PDP in the 2019 mid-year elections.
He administered the oath of office to some 3,000 newly-elected barangay and SK officials in the province at the New Tagum City Hall during the 120th Independence Day celebration Tuesday, June 12.
Alvarez asked the local officials to support the candidacy of PDP Representatives Monsour del Rosario of Makati City, Dakila Carlo Cua of Quirino, Sajid Mangudadatu of Maguindanao, and Karlo Nograles of Davao City.
He also called for support to the candidacy of Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, and Presidential Adviser Francis Tolentino.
He did not mention the other names being considered for the administration’s senatorial lineup.
But Alvarez reiterated that President Rodrigo Duterte has the final say on who would be the administration’s 12 senatorial candidates.
