Personal ang hugot! Duterte reveals smelling like sh*t after Boracay dip
President Rodrigo Duterte was speaking from personal experience when he compared Boracay’s waters to a “cesspool.”
In a speech in Tarlac Wednesday (March 7), Duterte said recalled going to Boracay twice during the campaign season for the 2016 elections.
He said he was told by a woman on the island that he smelled bad.
“Sabi ng babae, ‘you smell like a s***.’ ‘Really?’ ‘Yeah. You smell like a s***.’ Di mo man maamoy sarili mo so ‘yung — ‘yung sumunod, amoy — p***** i**, amoy t** nga. Sabi ko, ‘this is a disgrace,'” Duterte said.
In a subsequent speech in Pampanga, the President revealed that he was forced to act on Boracay’s degradation after receiving a complaint from three travel agencies.
“And I decided to — this was the subject of an exposé by Ted Failon. I decided to act because of a complaint signed by three travel agencies. Dito sa akin sa Malacañan, complaining about the utter neglect of maintaining the quality of the — everything there,” he said.
Duterte said he has given Environment Secretary Frank Cimatu, Interior Officer in Charge Eduardo Año and Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo to undertake the cleanup of Boracay and finish it in six months’ time.
The President earlier said he is considering shutting down Boracay in order to rehabilitate the island.
