What political prisoner? ‎Duterte hits De Lima for remaining in denial of drug charges

Mar 14, 2017 @ 20:50

President Rodrigo Duterte thumbed his nose at Senator Leila de Lima for claiming her detention on alleged drug charges was purely political motivated.

‎In a speech before municipal mayors Tuesday, Duterte wondered how de Lima could remain in denial despite testimonies claiming she received drug money from high-profile drug inmates at the National Bilibid Prison when she was still Justice Secretary.

‎”Political prisoner. G*** ka ba? Anong political prisoner? Hindi ako interesado magpakulong ng—Magyawyaw ka diyan kung gusto mo‎,” said Duterte.
Duterte echoed Speaker ‎Bebot Alvarez’s claim that de Lima was the country’s number one drug lord.”

“Since six years or seven years ago, we were already a narco-politics state. Kasi paglabasan nitong mga barangay captains, ayon. Hindi natin alam ang number one drug lord pala sa gobyerno. Mga generals pati ‘yung… hangang ngayon denial pa,” said Duterte.

In the eyes of the people who understand the issues from the beginning till now. It is purely political persecution. There is no solid evidence against de5 but the government used its resources to pin her down as she is the no.1 critic of PD due to EJK investigation. That’s what happens why she is behind bar.
