Powerhouse wedding: Deputy Speaker Alvarez gets hitched to ‘soldier boy’
House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Mercedes “Cheding” Alvarez, Representative of Negros Occidental’s sixth district married Major Dranreb “Dran” Lansang of the First Scout Ranger Regiment last October 6, 2016.
The couple were married at the historic Las Casas Filipinas Resort in Bagac, Bataan with Sen. Cynthia Villar, Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Reps. Feliciano Belmonte, Jr., Sharon Garin, Rodolfo Fariñas and Maricar Zamora; San Miguel Chairman Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco, Dr. Rosemarie Alvarez Isidro, Chief Superintendent Prudencio Bañas, Petronila Garcia, BGen. On her Facebook account, Alvarez said that “Dran and I are excited to begin a new chapter in our lives. Truly, one should never give up on love. You don’t know when it’s going to happen.
