Resignation will save Bautista from impeachment but not Senate probe -Escudero

Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said Sunday that the Senate would continue its probe on Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair Andres Bautista’s ill-gotten wealth even if he decides to resign from his post.

Bautista has remained undecided on whether to resign or dig in to face an imminent impeachment complaint against him.

Reports said that former Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto Paras was set to file an impeachment complaint before the House of Representatives.
