Robredo, Angara, other politikos mourn the death of Dina Abad
Politikos are taking to social media to pay tribute to the late Batanes Rep. Henedina Abad and honor her legacy.
Vice President Leni Robredo said the country has lost “another treasure” with the death of Abad, wife of former Budget Secretary Butch Abad.
“This was just in January. Now, she’s gone. You will be terribly missed, Congresswoman Dina Abad. The nation lost another treasure,” Robredo captioned a snap with the late Batanes lawmaker.
Senator Sonny Angara said Abad was a “respected former colleague in the House.” “Our prayers go out to Sec Butch, Sec Julia and their family,” he tweeted.
Deputy Speaker Miro Quimbo also tweeted his deepest condolences to the family of Abad. “She fought every battle like it was her last – with ferocity and integrity. #padayon,” he said.
Abad, a member of the Liberal Party, passed away last Sunday night. She served as representative of the lone district of Batanes from 2004 to 2007 and from 2010 to present.
