Palace: Senate has power to investigate Bong Go

Malacanang said it is within the prerogative of the Senate to engage in investigation.
This statement came on the heels of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s plan to probe the multi-billion peso public works contracts allegedly awarded to the family of Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go.
“It can investigate on anything and everything it wants,” spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said during Monday’s press briefing.
“It has plenary powers to do so,” he added.
Asked if Go has talked to President Duterte about the matter, Roque said, “Unfortunately we are talking about authority to sign and authority to speak. I have no authority to speak for Bong Go. I can only speak for the President.”
