Sablay sa geography! PCOO invents new country in Facebook post about envoy of ‘Norwegia’
The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) has outdone itself again by committing another boo-boo that’s funny and embarrassing at the same time.
On Thursday (June 14), PCOO posted four photos on its Facebook page about the meeting between President Rodrigo Duterte and outgoing Norwegian Ambassador to the Philippines Erik Forner in Malacañang.
The post would’ve been unremarkable if not for the second paragraph, which read: “The president conferred the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Datu to outgoing Norwegian Ambassador to the Philippines Erik Forner for his service as the representative of Norwegia.”
Forner comes from Norway.
The post remained on PCOO’s Facebook page for at least six hours before it was edited.
The office headed by Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has been called out for several embarrassing errors since the start of the Duterte administration.
Among its major boo-boos were the Philippine News Agency’s use of DOLE food company’s logo for a story about the Labor department, and the issuance of a grammatically incorrect ID for Palace reporters.
