Sagot ko kayo! Duterte assures soldiers of his backing— even if they’re wrong
President Rodrigo Duterte has assured soldiers of his full support even if they do something wrong while martial law is in place in Mindanao.
Speaking before members of the 102nd Infantry Brigade in Zamboanga Sibugay Friday (June 2), Duterte said soldiers must focus on doing their duty since they have his full support anyway.
“Let me go back again to my guarantee, protektado ko kayo. I will answer for everything. You just fight and fight. Huwag kayong matakot na ano,” he said.
“Minsan may pagkakamali talaga pati ‘yan, sagutin ko lahat. For all of the consequences of the proclamation of martial law,” Duterte added.
The President declared martial law in Mindanao on May 23 due to the ongoing clash between government forces and the terrorist Maute group.
Duterte earlier drew flak for recently joking he would assume responsibility for soldiers who rape at least three women while martial law is in place in Mindanao.
