Santiago backs removal of SAF from Bilibid: They’re needed somewhere else
Newly appointed Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) head Dionisio Santiago has backed plans to move out the contingent of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
“Kailangan sila somewhere else,” Santiago said during an interview over DZBB.
“It’s time for them to be police officers,” he pointed out.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II previously disclosed there has been a revival of the narcotics trade at the Bilibid.
Aguirre proposed to replace the contingent of SAF posted at the Bilibid to stop the rise of the drug trade.
BuCor Director General Benjamin Delos Santos, fraternity brother of Aguirre and President Rodrigo Duterte at the Lex Talionis Fraternitas, was forced to step down from his post because of the revelation.
