Saving Robredo: Pangilinan says Quimbo, LP members have no choice but leave House super majority
Senator Kiko Pangilinan said the Liberal Party members have to withdraw from the super majority in view of the move to impeach Vice President Leni Robredo.
“We’re monitoring itong impeachment case. That’s one of the considerations of the members of (Lower) House – will there be those who will support it, will there be those who will oppose it? Obviously sa amin sa party, hat’s a consideration, whether they will continue to be part of a party or not,” Pangilinan, LP president, said.
The senator, however, said there was no timetable yet on when to finalize LP’s decision to drop out of the supermajority.
“Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang pag-uusap. Marami pa ring meeting na isinasagawa so we are in the process of deciding because of this recent development nga, mino-monitor pa natin,” Pangilinan said.
The matter has been subject of LP’s discussion for the last two months when reports of Robredo’s impeachment surfaced.
