By JOHN CARLO M. CAHINHINAN
House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez is furious over the leakage of a CCTV footage containing the outburst of embattled ACTS-OFW party-list Rep. Aniceto “John” Bertiz III at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last Saturday.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Suarez said he would seek a separate probe on how the video was released despite despite strict security protocols of NAIA.
“Security breaches ‘yan. Hindi dapat lumabas (yung CCTV footage). Papaano nag-trigger ‘yan?” he said.
Suarez clarified that he was not tolerating the supposed unparliamentary conduct of Bertiz against an airport security personnel but posting the said CCTV footage in public websites without the permission of the airport management and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) was considered a “breach of security.”
“Hindi ko malaman paano lumabas (online) yung (footage). Eh confidential yung (kuha ng) CCTV Paano naging viral sa public yun?” he said.
“That’s a security issue because of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Hindi dapat i-public yung footage ng CCTV ng NAIA,” he added.
On Wednesday, the House committee on ethics started its inquiry on the misconduct of Bertiz at the airport. Bertiz on Tuesday was reportedly rushed ot the hospital after complaining of chest pains.
