Senator Bato? Ex-PNP chief flattered by billboards supporting Senate bid
Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa on Tuesday admitted being tickled by the idea of some of his supporters putting up and financing some billboards pushing for his senatorial bid.
So ibig sabihin may pwede ka pang maiko-contribute,” he said to Senate reporters in a chance interview.
Reports said that a billboard on caricatures of Dela Rosa and Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go which says “Go Bato” and features the logo of the Hugpong ng Pagbabao political party of presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio was put up in Davao City recently.
Dela Rosa claimed he knows nothing about it, including those who financed the said billboard.
Promise,” he said.
“Wala akong kinalaman doon, bakit, sino naglagay doon. Ipa-find out natin kung sino.
Asked what could be its purpose, the BuCor chief said it could be easily deduced that some groups are out to convince him to run for the Senate.
“Pag ganun, nakikita ko may ganun inu urge nila ako sumali dyan sa pamululitika. (But) as I have said again and again depende na yan kay President (Duterte). Trabahuhin ko muna ito,” the retired Philippine National Police (PNP ) chief said.
