She’s one tough lady! Duterte says Inday Sara can make him shut up with a curse
President Rodrigo Duterte may have no qualms cussing, but there’s one person who’s able to shut him up with her own barrage of curses.
In a speech before the Filipino community in Myanmar Sunday (March 19), Duterte publicly expressed admiration for the performance of his daughter, Davao City mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.
“Pero Inday would be a good — sa Davao. I don’t know in any other office pero maasahan mo si Inday. Under pressure,” he said.
“Kasi kung kaya niya nanay niya paiyakin pati ako, ‘pag ‘yan ang mamu**** i**, tahimik kaming lahat,” Duterte remarked.
Sara was infamous for punching a court sheriff in 2011 for insisting on the demolition of shanties in Davao City.
Duterte said that while Sara appears to be comfortable in her job as a mayor now, she immediately resigned when she warmed his seat.
“Nag-oath kami lahat, nationwide iyan eh. Kinabukasan nag-file ng resignation. Sabi niya, ‘maghanap ka na ng mayor mo.’ Anak ng jueteng talaga itong si Inday o. Nandiyan on file,” Duterte recalled.
“Ayaw niya kasi nakakapagod, nababastos ka daw, manuntok ka pa ng tao, mambugbog ka pa ng sheriff,” he added.
Despite her initial hesitation in becoming mayor of Davao City, Duterte said his daughter is doing great at her job.
“Sumasagot talaga iyan maski noong maliit pa. Pero maaasahan mo in times of ‘yung problema sa tao, maaasahan mo si Inday. I am not praising my daughter because that is what she is,” he said.
