Sino ba siya? Andanar shrugs off Bayan Muna threat to challenge TRAIN passage before SC

Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar shrugged off the threat of a Bayan Muna representative to take to the Supreme Court (SC) the allegedly railroaded passage of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN).
Andanar belittled Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate’s pledge to bring TRAIN’s passage before the High Court after it was allegedly passed in the lower House without a quorum.
“Hindi naman siya member ng Supreme Court so tayo’y magre-react lamang ‘pag member ng Supreme Court ang magsabi,” Andanar said in a radio interview on Saturday (December 16).
Andanar said Zarate should leave it to SC justices to decide on the issue.
“Ang mahalaga ho dito ay pumasa na ho ito sa Senado at ganun din po diyan sa Lower House, and then if he wants to question it, then let the magistrates decide for themselves if his questions are really valid,” Andanar said.
Zarate and his colleague in the Makabayan bloc ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio vowed to take to the High Court TRAIN’s passage in the House despite having barely any members present in the plenary hall.
Majority Floor Leader Rudolfo Fariñas defended TRAIN’s passage, saying it was done according to House rules.
