Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate asked the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) to look into the “personal blog” of Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson which allegedly earning from the paid advertisements.
“Sino ang kumikita sa blog ni Mocha? …may mga ads din, so sino ang kumikita?” Zarate said.
During Thursday’s deliberation on the proposed Php 1.47 billion budget for PCOO, Zarate told Communications Secretary Martin Andanar to remind Uson that she was now a government employee and should have a “certain degree of transparency” in her activities.
Zarate stressed that Uson’s blog is more of “personal blog” and not for the activities of the government.
“Kapag tinignan mo ang blog niya wala namang output. Dapat tignan ng PCOO ito for the sake of transparency. Hindi ko nakikita sa blog ang ginagawa ng Pangulo,” said Zarate.
The militant solon noted that PCOO should investigate whether or not the funds being used to finance Uson’s blog came from her own pocket or at taxpayers’ cost.
“You have to look into this, bugbog sarado na kayo dahil sa kanya. Paano ang budget na ginagamit sa private blog niya?” Zarate said.
Aside from reported handling of Malacañang and President Rodrigo Duterte’s social media operations, Andanar told members of the House Appropriations Committee that he has given Uson another tasks to host two shows, the “DDS Podcast,” and “Good News Duterte.”
Just recently, Uson was criticized for her controversial “Pepedederalismo” jingle video to promote federalism in her blog post
