Former Parañaque 2nd District Rep. Roilo Golez, a staunch defender of the Philippines’ claim over the West Philippine Sea, has finally been laid to rest.
He was buried Saturday (June 16) at The Heritage Park in Taguig City and was accorded military honors and a three-volley gun salute, led by Philippine Navy chief Roberto Empedrad.
The Philippine Military Academy song was also played before Golez was buried.
Golez was a Naval captain, postmaster general and National Security Adviser.
The late Golez was last heard in an interview on DZRH, where he talked about China’s actions in the West Philippine Sea.
He died of a heart attack on Monday (June 11). He was 71.
