Solo show lang ba? Hontiveros questions release of Dengvaxia report sans senators’ signatures

Senator Risa Hontiveros said she was “surprised” when Senate Blue Ribbon committee chair Dick Gordon released the committee report on the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine, even if it has not been signed by any member of the committee.
“Ganyan na ba ngayon sa Senate Blue Ribbon Committee? Nakakalungkot at lalo tuloy bumibigat ang obserbasyon ng marami na nagiging politikal na ang imbestigasyong ito,” Hontiveros said in a text message.
Gordon released earlier this week a draft committee report recommending criminal charges against former President Noynoy Aquino, former Health Secretary Janette Garin, former Budget Secretary Butch Abad and other government doctors over their involvement in the Dengvaxia mess.
However, the report has not yet been signed by any senator. But Gordon said he would be circulating the report to members of the Blue Ribbon committee for their signatures and amendments.
Gordon also said he is confident that his report would be signed by all senators except those affiliated with the Liberal Party.
Hontiveros refused to comment on the recommended charges against Aquino, Garin, Abad and others until copies of the report has been released to committee members.
She, however, reiterated her call for Dengvaxia manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur to compensate the families of those affected by the dengue vaccine, revealed to cause serious disease among those not yet infected with dengue.
