Sorry Trillanes: Tulfo ain’t jobless, says TV5 contract ‘under negotiation’
It’s not hard to imagine that fiery broadcaster Erwin Tulfo had his favorite punching bag Senator Antonio Trillanes IV in mind when he made this clarification on his Facebook.
In a post on Maundy Thursday (April 13), Tulfo made it clear that he hasn’t resigned from his mother station TV5, despite reports from various outlets saying that he did.
The journo then added a jab at his enemies, which, if you’ve been closely following his radio program Punto Asintado on Radyo Singko (TV5’s radio station), includes the equally outspoken Trillanes.
“Did not resign from TV5. I will be back on Monday at Punto Asintado. My TV contract is under negotiation .
Sorry for making some of you worried. Doon sa mga kalaban ko, sorry to disappoint you. Still with TV5,” Tulfo wrote on his FB.
It’s been almost a month since Tulfo was seen on TV5’s primetime news program, Aksyon. This has lead to speculation that he was on his way out from the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned network.
Despite his absence on Aksyon, where he is a co-anchor, Tulfo has continued to be the voice of Punto Asintado. In fact, the FB post he made showed him at a firing range–a reference to his program’s title.
Earlier his month, Trillanes demanded a public apology from Tulfo for claiming that the politiko tried to bribe a Davao businesswoman into testifying against President Rodrigo Duterte.
Tulfo responded by challenging the former Navy lieutenant to a fist fight.
