Subok ng boss! Ramon Ang shares life hacks to FEU graduates
Do success and happiness come hand in hand? For San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon S. Ang, the answer is a resounding yes.
Ang returned to his alma mater, Far Eastern University (FEU), to inspire graduates to strive for success and find fulfillment in their work.
In his speech, Ang shared seven secrets to his happiness. These are:
– Be a man of your word
– Know how to keep a secret
– Work harder than anybody else
– Be decisive
– Be a risk taker
– Nothing is impossible
– Believe in a bigger purpose
Ang, a mechanical engineering graduate of FEU, credited his experience as a working student to his success in managing SMC, the largest conglomerate in the Philippines.
“One of the reasons for my accomplishments is because of my ability to read people and situations. I am able to adapt. I make tough decisions based on gut instinct,” he said.
From its original business of beer, food and packaging, SMC has expanded into a company that now has interests in oil and petrochemicals, power, infrastructure, properties, and banking.
Ang said SMC now has P900 billion in revenues.
As a parting shot, the tycoon invited FEU graduates to apply at SMC so they can work together towards nation building.
