Sumosobra na! Sotto eyes cyber libel raps vs. blogger for calling him rapist, plagiarist
Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III is set to file cyber libel charges before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against a blogger who called him a rapist, plagiarist and bigot.
Sotto on Monday (November 20) said he has executed a sworn affidavit against Cocoy Dayao, said to be the administrator of the “Silent No More” blog.
“It’s about his attacks against me which are really libelous,” he said.
In addition to filing a case against Dayao, Sotto said he will request for the cancellation of the blogger’s passport.
Sotto was irked by Dayao’s blog post in September where he called the senator and six of his colleagues “Malacanang dogs” for not signing the Senate Resolution 516 calling on the government to stop the killing of minors.
Sotto said he did not like the names Dayao called him.
“Yung mga name calling nya sa akin, that’s libellous. That is my basis (for the filing of charges. Balewale yung sinabi nya na hindi raw kami pumirma, nag-imbento sya ng story na mali. Na hindi naman kami pinapirma talaga. Yung name-calling nya ang libelous dun,” he said.
Aside from Sotto, the other senators bashed by Dayao in his blog were: Richard Gordon, Cynthia Villar, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Manny Pacquiao, Gregorio Honasan and Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
