Supalpal! Netizens twit Sen. Aquino for credit-grabbing on free SUC tuition
Credit-grabbing in aid of reelection!
This was how a netizen slammed Sen. Benigno Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV for trying to claim credit for the free tuition in state colleges and universities in 2017.
“Bam Aquino, ‘wag kang umepal diyan, matagal kinampanya ng youth sector ang free education for all sa panahon ni Noynoy, wala kayong ginawa, hinarang niyo pa sa pamamagitan ni Patricia Licuanan ng CHED,” Facebook user Lorca Caiña said .
Also, Caiña posted a screenshot of a “sponsored” or paid Facebook post by Aquino claiming credit for making colleges and universities tuition-free.
“Ilang kabataan ang pinatay ng sistema ng edukasyon sa ilalim ng nakaraang administrasyon hindi niyo nagawang libre ang tuition sa SUCs, ngayong naipasa sa pangunguna ng kabataan tsaka ka eepal? Uweee!” Caiña said.
“Takot na takot kayong gawing libre ang edukasyon dahil ayaw niyong mawalan ng kita ang private schools,” Caiña added.
Caiña speculated Aquino may be trying to grab credit as he is running for reelection in 2019.
“Tatakbo pa ‘to sa 2019 guys, alam niyo na huh!” Caiña said.
Earlier, Sen. Panfilo Lacson had P8.3 billion pork in the Department of Public Works and Highways’ budged realigned to state colleges and universities.
Lacson had stood his ground on this, noting the P8.3 billion was for projects to be implemented by the DPWH in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao – a violation of the ARMM’s organic act.
