Tatakbo ba o hindi? Duterte gets dizzy thinking about Roque’s flip-flops
President Rodrigo Duterte has admitted to feeling frustrated about outgoing Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, since he can’t seem to make his mind up on whether or not to run for senator.
In a press conference Friday (October 12) in Davao City, Duterte recalled being told by Roque that he would run for senator, only to take it back the next day.
“I hope I would not offend Harry but… Sabi niya, magtakbo siya ng senador. O ‘di sabi ko sige. So automatic may ano na ako sa kuwan, may naisip na ako na… ‘Sal, ikaw muna. Well, if you want it then I’d look for — I’ll scout for another legal adviser.’ Ta’s kinabukasan sabi niya hindi na raw,” he said after arriving from the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
Duterte said thinking about Roque’s flip-flops made him dizzy on the flight back to the Philippines.
“The flight was smooth. But when we were talking about it kay Harry, bigla akong nahilo sa ano,” he said.
Duterte said he wants to talk to Roque to know once and for all whether he would run for senator.
The President said he wants to know Roque’s decision before announcing any new appointments. He added that his legal adviser, Salvador Panelo, will only hold the position of Presidential Spokesperson in a temporary capacity.
“Mag-uusap pa kami, ma’am. Kasi baka ngayon mag-usap siya tapos bukas iba na naman. Takot na ako eh. Baka magkamali ko. Hindi sa… Takot ako mapahiya sa mga tao,” he said.
