Together again! Sueno’s switch makes Duterte, Robredo sit beside each other at PNP grad rites
Amid talk about their respective impeachments, President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo sat beside each other at the graduation rites of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Masidlak” Class of 2017 in Cavite Friday (March 24).
Make no mistake about it though: the plan was for them to be seated a chair away from each other, just like at the commencement rites of the Philippine Military Academy “Salaknib” Class of 2017 earlier this month.
Duterte and Robredo were likely caught by surprise after Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno– who was supposed to be seated between them– moved to the chair for the Vice President when the President went up on stage after being given arrival honors.
Neither Duterte nor Robredo asked Sueno to move to the chair reserved for him.
Only on Thursday (March 23), the President accused Robredo of being one of the three politikos– aside from Senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila de Lima– who want him ousted.
The Vice President has denied being part of any plan to overthrow the government and said she is not desperate to succeed Duterte.
