Trillanes accuses Gordon of sitting on Senate probes: Mas matangkad pa pending resolutions sa kanya!

Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV accused Senate Blue Ribbon committee chair Richard “Dick” Gordon of delaying probes which may be unfavorable for the Duterte administration.
“Alam niyo kung bibilangin niyo ‘yung mga resolution na pending kay Gordon baka mas matangkad pa sa kanya. Inuupuan niya lahat ‘yun,” Trillanes said over radio dwIZ Saturday (July 21).
Trillanes said he wanted to have the Presidential Communications Operations Office probed by the Senate over its allegedly anomalous P647.11 million information drive for the 2017 Asean Summit, but Gordon’s committee did not take it up.
The Blue Ribbon committee did not take up Trillanes’ resolution because it was referred to the Senate Finance committee, chaired by Senator Loren Legarda.
Still, Trillanes said Gordon cannot be trusted to conduct probes as he is an ally of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The opposition senator has previously accused the Blue Ribbon committee of being a “committee de abswelto” during its probe on the P6.4 billion shabu shipment, where the President’s son, former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, was implicated in.
He had also pushed for the ouster of Gordon as Blue Ribbon chair, but did not succeed.
In a statement last month, Gordon has insisted that the Blue Ribbon committee makes findings and recommendations based on “painstakingly gathered” evidence.
