Trillanes hits Duterte’s paranoia on ouster plot: He’s doing the destabilizing all by himself
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday said President Duterte’s claims on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s assurance that China will not block his ouster have betrayed his paranoia about the state of affairs in the country.
“No one is trying to kick him out. He is doing the destabilizing all by himself,” he said in a text message to reporters.
“First of all, I don’ believe China would even say that because they know that they don’t have the power to stop any leadership change from happening,” Trillanes said.
Duterte made the statement during the a send-off ceremony to Filipino scientists who will conduct a month-long marine research in Benham Rise or Philippine Rise in Casiguran, Aurora.
The Chief Executive boasted of the Manila and Beijing’s improved diplomatic ties, coming from decades-long dispute over territorial claims on the South China Sea.
“The assurances of (Pres.) Xi Jinping were very encouraging…’We will not allow you to be taken out from your office and we will not allow the Philippines to go to the dogs,” Duterte said quoting Xi.
