Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is calling for the firing of Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nic Faeldon, a fellow member of the Magdalo Group, while taking aim at Duterte’s double standard in handling his Cabinet members and other appointees embroiled in corruption.
Duterte fired Sueno in front of his fellow Cabinet members after getting a report that he profited from the purchase of firetrucks from Austria which was forged during the previous administration.
In contrast, the drug-hating Duterte has reiterated his trust in Faeldon, one of several former military officers in his administration, even though the P6.4 billion shabu haul slipped through his agency’s green lane.
“Kung susundin natin kung totoo talaga yung kanyang mga outbursts as regards with illegal drugs, dapat pinagmumura nya ito eh hindi ba? Dapat pinagmumura nya itong si Faeldon,” said Trillanes who noted that Duterte’s lack of interest in the shabu haul was highly suspicious.
