Trillanes is stupid, he can’t even sail a ship – Duterte

May 1, 2017 @ 21:34

President Rodrigo Duterte doesn’t think Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has the intellectual capacity to understand the complex issues in geopolitics.

In an interview with reporters, Duterte dismissed Trillanes’s latest criticism that he weakened the country’s claim in the West Philippine Sea when he failed to mention about the United Nation Arbitral Ruling which voided China’s 9-dash claim in this closing statement as chair of the ASEAN Leaders Summit held in Manila.

“What does he… Ang alam ni… He does not know about geopolitics. Trillanes is only good for compass,” said Duterte.

As far as he was concerned, Duterte said there was no point in raising a polarizing issue in ASEAN or forcing China to respect the UN ruling and vacate the disputed Spratlys Islands.

“It would not be good because any violence now would result only in both sides losing. There is no winner actually. Iyong giyera na ito ngayon, pag ka sumabog lahat ‘yan,” said Duterte.

In a speech during Labor Day in Davao City, Duterte continued his tirade against Trilanes: “Trillanes is stupid. Would you believe in Trillanes? He doesn’t know anything. What else does he know but to sail a ship—but he might not know that well also.”
