A total of 21 heads of state and government, as well as United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, will be in the Philippines in November for the ASEAN Summit, the head of the national organizing council said Tuesday (October 24).

Ambassador Marciano Paynor, director general for operations of the ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council, said among the state leaders expected to visit the country is Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In addition, the head of the European Union, and the leaders of the 10 ASEAN member states and eight East Asia Summit countries will be in Manila for the Summit.

The ASEAN Summit and related meetings will happen from November 13 to 15.

The White House earlier confirmed that United States President Donald Trump will fly to the Philippines for the high-level meeting with other world leaders.

“Thus far, we have not had any indication of anyone not coming. So as far as… As long as they have not indicated that they are not coming, we assume that they are,” Paynor said.

He said there are at least four requests for bilateral meetings with Duterte, but could not confirm if a meeting will be held between the President and Trump.
