Tugna admonishes #LeniLeaks group: Wag na kayong pabigat
As if taking the #LeniLeaks report at face value, CIBAC Party-list Rep. Sherwin Tugna on Monday (January 9) said he was disappointed that such groups would plot something that would undoubtedly be detrimental to the Philippines.
“Attempts such as the one allegedly exposed by the so-called ‘Leni Leaks’ would only derail the progress that we have made so far,” Tugna said in a statement.
It was reported Monday that several influential friends of Vice President Leni Robredo have been plotting the supposed removal of President Rodrigo Duterte via email. This email conversation has been leaked, the Palace said.
“Instead of organizing to undermine and unseat the President, we should muster all our energies and contribute to positive change in our country,” added Tugna, who is a former House Assistant Majority Leader.
“The political uncertainty would only stymie our economic growth which is currently pegged at 6.9 percent by the World Bank,” he further said.
Tugna and Robredo are actually connected via the Kaya Natin Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership.
In 2013, Tugna was named by Kaya Natin as a champion of good governance. The movement was founded by the Vice President’s late husband, former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.
