Tuloy ang laban! Ateneo continues activities vs. martial law despite class suspension

Sep 21, 2017 @ 20:37

Students of Ateneo de Manila University pushed through with holding activities to commemorate the 45th anniversary of martial law despite the suspension of classes in all Quezon City schools by Mayor Herbert Bautista.

The students were encouraged by a memo by Vice President for Loyola Schools Maria Luz Vilches, who encouraged members of the Ateneo community to go to the campus and take part in the activities “meant to reflect on our national history during the Martial Law years.”

Officials of the Sanggunian ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila led a mobilization at Leong Hall, where they displayed tarpaulins bearing photos of the victims of Martial Law atrocities, as well as the drug-related killings under the Duterte administration.

They then proceeded to the sidewalk just outside ADMU’s Gate 2.5 to put up the posters and hold a protest.
